Obituary of William E. MacDonald

William E. MacDonald, age 67 of Garnet Valley, PA, died on February 3, 2018 at home. Born in Bryn Mawr and raised in Glenolden, he has been a resident of Garnet Valley for 31 years, residing for the last 10 years in the Foxfield community. William was the Employee Benefits Director for Christiana Care Hospital for over 20 years, retiring in 2006. He graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School, class of 1968, and received his Bachelor's degree in Political Science & Economics from St. Joseph’s University. Bill was the #1 fan of the 2018 Super Bowl Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. He loved his annual family trips to North Carolina for Thanksgiving, had a passion for cooking and quite the green thumb as evidenced by his beautiful gardens. He was a supporter of the Concord-Bethel Twp.Democratic Committee. He is preceded in death by his parents, William T. and Lucy E. Rubei MacDonald, and is survived by his, daughter, Elizabeth MacDonald, sister, Lucille Gallagher and her husband James, brother, Edward MacDonald, nieces, Lauren and Dana Lynn Gallagher, former wife, Patricia Sharpe, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to count. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8th from 6:00-8:00PM and Friday, February 9th from 10:00-11:00AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11:00AM. Interment S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
