Obituary of Barry S. Dowd (Rescheduled due to Snow)

Barry S. Dowd, age 61, passed away suddenly on December 31, 2017 at home. Born in Chester, PA, Barry has resided in West Grove, PA for over 30 years and was previously a Delaware County resident. A graduate from Sun Valley High School, class of 1974, he served in the Army and was stationed in Germany from 1975-1977. He was currently employed in maintenance with the Avon Grove School District for over 15 years. He previously was a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic. Barry enjoyed the outdoors, working around the house and working on cars and trucks. He is survived by his 2 sons, Stephen Dowd and Michael Dowd and wife Lisa, his parents, Howard and Anne Keller Dowd, former wife, Patricia Dowd, sister, Susan Burns, step-sister, Kathy Berckman and a granddaughter, Arwen Dowd. A visitation will be held on Jan. 9th, 2018, Tuesday night, 6:00-7:00PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by a Memorial Service at 7PM. interment will remain private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barry's memory may be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org).
