Obituary of John M. Hair

John M. Hair, age 92 of Lewes, DE passed away on October 17, 2017 at Delaware State Veterans Home in Milford, DE. Born in Autryville, N.C., John has resided in Lewes, DE with his daughter & son-in-law since 2011, and previously in Boothwyn, PA. A veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart, John served in the Army during WWII with the 101st Airborne Division where he parachuted into Holland for Operation Market Garden, history's greatest airborne assault. John later also fought in the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, John was employed at Sun Oil in Marcus Hook for 40 years retiring in 1984. He was an avid reader as well as a history & Civil War Buff. In addition to his parents, John & Rosa Lee Bullock Hair, John is preceded in death by his wife, Isabella MacMillan Hair who passed in 2007 and 3 siblings, Marjorie Tyson, Nellie Keaton & Marion Hair. He is survived by his daughter, Marjorie Worrell & husband Linn. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, 9-10AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA followed by Funeral Services at 10:00AM. Interment, Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, PA.
