Obituary of Dirck W. Buzby

Dirck W. Buzby, age 85, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away suddenly at home on January 5, 2025. Born and raised in Norristown, PA, Dirck had been a resident of Chester Heights Borough in Concord Township for the past 53 years. Prior to that, he lived in West Chester, PA. Dirck dedicated his career to education, teaching Science, Health, and Physical Education at Concord High School for over 30 years until his retirement in 2002. Earlier in his career, he taught at Garnet Valley High School. After retiring, Dirck continued to stay active by working at Glen Mills Golf Course, where he enjoyed being part of the community. Dirck attended The George School and graduated from Rancocal Valley Reaginal High School. He earned his teaching degree from West Chester University in 1962. He was passionate about golf, water skiing, and boating. In his earlier years, he owned and operated a water skiing school on Long Beach Island and owned and operated Chadds Peak Ski area, sharing his love of the sports with others. Known for his warm spirit and sense of humor, Dirck was always ready to tell a good joke. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth K. and Esther (Fischler) Buzby, and his siblings, Augustus Buzby and Marilyn (Buzby) Flagler. Dirck is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, "Bunny" Norma (Schwarz) Buzby; his 5 children, Brent (Susie) Buzby, Dean (Kimberly) Buzby, Todd (Andrea) Buzby, Stacey (Mike) Blank and D. Clarke (Patti) Staus; and eleven cherished grandchildren: Amelia, Autumn, Kaitlyn, Paige, Brooke, Chase, Summer, Luna, Josh, Michael and Caroline. A visitation will take place on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 1:00-2:00PM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a memorial service at 2:00PM. Interment will be private.
