Obituary of Sara E Eccleston

Sara Elizabeth (Jackson) Eccleston, age 84, of Boothwyn, PA passed away on August 5, 2024 at Jefferson Hospital. Born in Jackson's Mill, WV, she moved to Middle River, MD, graduated from Kenwood Senior High School in 1957, and attended Baltimore Business and Baltimore Institute. Sara attended DCCC and was on the Dean's list while she was there. She has resided in Boothwyn for the past 57 years.

 

Sara worked at Glen L. Martins in Baltimore after graduation. She drove a handicapped student's school bus for Aston School District. She also worked at AstraZeneca, Wilmington, DE where she worked for 14 years in the computer department.

 

Sara was a member of the Jackson Brigade and enjoyed going to the Jackson Reunions. Sara attended Cokesbury UM, Marcus Hook PA where she taught a computer class for two years and was Chair of the Nurture Committee. She liked bowling, crocheting, and wrote the newsletter for AARP Claymont #175 as well as the Upper Chichester Senior Citizens Center. Sara attended First Baptist Church of Ogden during her final days.

 

Sara was the daughter of the late Edward B. and Naoma C. (Kidder) Jackson, and is preceded in death by her husband, George W. Eccleston who passed in 2023 and her brothers; Ray E. Jackson of Craigsville WV and Ronald T. Jackson of Ft. Myers FL.

 

She is survived by a daughter; Cheryl A. Shaw of Schwenksville, PA, sons; Steven E. (Brenda) of Wilmington DE, Richard J. (Gina) of DE, and W. Bradley (Angel) of Aston PA, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 niece, and 3 nephews.

 

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA, followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM.
