Obituary of Erminia A. Cola

Erminia A. Cola, age 87, of Upper Chichester, PA passed away at her home on Friday, June 16, 2023. Born and raised in South Philadelphia, a daughter of Renato and Rose F. Ciminera; she had resided in Creekside Village since 2011; previously residing in Kingsley, PA for over 30 years and East Lansdowne, PA for 20 years. A graduate of John W. Hallahan High School, Class of 1953, she was a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church and participated in the St. John's on the Hill Senior Club. Erminia enjoyed cooking, baking and most of all, her time with her grandchildren and family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Cola in 2002; her son, Michael J. Cola in 2009 and her brother, Dr. Anthony Ciminera. Erminia is survived by her four children, Angela G. (Kevin) McCarthy, John F. Cola, Jr., Janet A. (Jerry) McFarlane and Joseph A. Cola; her daughter-in-law, Helen Cola; and her sister, Sr. Damien Ciminera, M.S.C.; her five grandchildren, Jerry Jr., Amanda (Larry), Jason, Kylee and Jesse; her four great grandchildren, Alyssa, Layla, Jesse, Jr. and Cooper. A visitation will be held on Friday, 10-11AM at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 4225 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn, PA, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11AM. Interment will be held privately at Holy Name of Mary Cemetery, Montrose, PA. Memorial contributions can be made in Erminia's honor to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, (www.stjude.org).
