So sad to ready about Mr. Brady's passing. He was a friend of the family and a great customer (of Claymont Exxon) for so very many years. He always treated me with kindness, and I am sure he will be sorely missed by all who knew him. My sincere condolences to the entire family.

Dave Brady was salt-of-the-earth. He cared for his family, friends, neighbors and community, and was their champion in Dover and in Claymont.
So well-adjusted, a public servant in the best possible way.
He was a kind man, who took interest in others, including me. He and Carol were such a perfect match.
To Carol and the entire family, I'm sure you know that Dave made a difference in so many lives. Jacqi and I will always remember him very fondly. You have our deepest condolences during this sad time.

Dear Carol and Family
I am so sad to hear of Dave's passing. Over the years we went from adversaries to good friends. I ran Jim Edwards' campaign against him in 1982 when Dave was first elected and later as Brandywine Region Republican Chairman put candidate after candidate against him which he easily defeated. Later in life I got to know Dave the person and not Dave the Democrat and grew to admire and respect him very much. We would meet regularly to discuss the issues of the day. We had much more in common than I could have ever have imaged. The world will be a much different and lesser place without him. We need more elected officials like him and less politicians. Rest in peace my dear friend.

Growing up on NY Ave Mr Brady was the guardian of the dirt road between NY and PA Ave. he always spoke and was very friendly.
While working as a school Nurse at BSD I got to know him as the visiting teacher. He always stopped by my office to see how my Father and family were doing. We exchanged stories of growing up in Claymont.
He was a man who knew his community and was a friend to all.
Sympathy to his Family and to his many friends.

I have so many memories of Mr. Brady growing up just a few houses away. I remember babysitting his children, the green carnations on election days, and the many times the adults would be in deep discussions often times right on the sidewalk. On our street we all looked out for each other and helped each other. I will miss seeing him driving his El Camino and his smile as we waved hello whenever we passed each other. He will be sadly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Carol and family during this difficult time.

Share A memory? How is that possible? This man has been a part of our family for almost my whole life! He became “Uncle Dave” when he and “Aunt Carol” were chosen to be Jaime’s Godparents. However, I remember the rides in the mustang around the neighborhood with the top down, handing out green carnations on Election Day and waiting at the polls for the votes to be tallied up. I remember being at school and getting my hug and kiss, and time for a chat when he was a visiting teacher. Other teachers didn’t get that attention. I always felt special. The last time I saw “ Uncle Dave”, he and “Aunt Carol” came to my Mother’s house to see how they could help after she passed away. As my sister and I return the gesture, I get the thought of my Mother and “Uncle Dave” sitting together having a cup of tea. They both would enjoy that!
Sending all my love and prayers to the Brady’s ~ Wendy Clark - Della Valle

I had the honor of serving with Dave in the Delaware General Assembly. He was one of the kindest mom Dr caring individuals that I have ever met. He served his state and nation with honor and dignity. He truly was a renaissance man. Sally and I send our love and prayers to Carole.

Carol and family, I am deeply sorry for the loss of your husband and father. As a Delawarean, I am sorry for our collective loss. Dave has been such a dedicated and effective advocate for Claymont and Delaware history for so many years and simply a joy to know. Dave and Carol have been such a powerful force of achievement on behalf of the Claymont community. I am thankful for getting to know him, and Wade and I will miss seeing him at Robinson House. Our deepest sympathy to you.
