Obituary of Elizabeth T. Blake

Elizabeth T. "Betty" Blake, age 88, of Glen Mills, PA passed away on November 24, 2022 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born to Joseph and Susan Burke O'Donnell in Philadelphia, PA, she has resided in the Maris Grove Community for 14 years, previously residing in Swarthmore, Lansdowne, and Philadelphia. Betty retired from Wanamakers as a supervisor and in her early years was an operator with Bell Telephone in Philadelphia; Las Cruces, New Mexico; and Kennewick, Washington.  After retirement, Betty and Bill enjoyed many weekends together at their Jersey shore home. Devoted to her faith, Betty was active at both Notre Dame de Lourdes and St. Cornelius Catholic Parishes. She was also active in the Maris Grove Community as a part of the choir, Blanket Circle, and usher coordinator at Maris Grove events. Betty was a member of the West Catholic Alumni Group and enjoyed crocheting and baking in her spare time while enjoying Irish music. Betty's love of family was present in all aspects of her life.  She celebrated her 67th wedding anniversary with her beloved Bill in 2019.   In addition to her parents and siblings, she is preceded in death by her husband, William M. Blake, Sr., who passed in 2020.  Betty is survived by her 5 children; William M. (Cynthia) Blake, Jr., Susanne (John) Pooler, Deborah (Joseph) Tancredi, Robert (Shona) Blake, and Lisa (Jeffrey) Gowman, 12 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
