
Obituary of Gloria May Wendel
Gloria M. Wendel, age 79 of Garnet Valley, PA passed away peacefully on November 8 at Naamans Creek Country Manor.
Gloria was born in Allentown, PA to George Rex and Pauline (Fendrick) Godusky. She attended Allentown Central Catholic High School and was a proud Viking of the Class of 1961. After a brief novitiate with the Sisters of St. Francis, she married Robert C. Deysher in January 1968 and remained with him until his death in 1993. In 2004, she married Dr. Henri F. Wendel until his passing in 2016.
Her remarkable 37-year career as a real estate broker gained her notoriety and many awards. She was a shrewd negotiator and loved helping people find their dream home. She adored her colleagues and often brought halupkies or Slovakian foods for everyone to enjoy at the office. Her most recent professional experience was with Panarello Century 21, The Real Estate Store in Garnet Valley.
She enjoyed casino trips and playing Texas Hold 'Em Poker. She loved to cook and enjoyed listening to polka and jazz music.
Gloria is survived by her three children, Maria Deysher (Michael Heins), Theresa A. Bostocky (Jonathan) and Anthony R. Deysher (Victoria Kethley). Gloria is also survived by her brother, Thomas Rex (Cathy), her 2 nephews, Thomas Rex, Jr. and Jonathan Rex and the grandson she adored, Joshua R. Heins. She will be missed by her loyal furry companion, Sophie.
Gloria is predeceased by her parents, both husbands, and her sister, Mary Jane Rex.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley on Tuesday, November 15 from 9-10:15 AM to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Fisher, Boothwyn at 11AM.
