Obituary of William Edward Putman Jr.

“Everyone is just bouncing the ball. You need someone to pick teams and start the game.” - Bill Putman

After “fighting the fight” for three months, William “Bill” Edward Putman Jr. passed away peacefully on July 28, 2022 with family by his side and Bruce Springsteen filling the air. The world lost an ultimate connector and showman.

Growing up in Upper Chichester, PA, Bill developed a passion for sports and propensity for connecting others. He refined these special talents at Neumann College (BSN Nursing) and flourished in Bethel Township, PA, creating and coaching various sports (Bethel Bombers tee-ball, Concord Canes baseball, Brandywine Youth Club) to teach children fundamental skills. These passion projects were in addition to the business, Continuous Home Care Inc., that he co-founded and grew successfully for 25 years.

With a mic often in hand, Bill lived boldly and loved big. Encouraging everyone to “savor” the moment, he passionately supported others through his genuine, grand gestures, which often consisted of showering people with their food favorites, and of course, his signature bear hugs. One of Bill’s greatest joys was becoming the “Big Guy” to his grandson, William "Liam" Putman IV.

Bill is preceded by his parents, William Sr. and Patricia Flanagan Putman. Carrying on Bill’s incredible heart and soul are his wife, Nancy Putman; children, Laura (Drew) Crail, William (Erika) Putman III, Timothy (Stephanie) Putman; and siblings, Elizabeth and Jim (Chrissy) Putman.

All are welcome to celebrate his WONDERFUL LIFE. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4 from 6-8PM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA. Another visitation will take place on Friday, August 5 from 10-11AM, followed by an 11AM funeral service. Burial will take place at Siloam Cemetery, Garnet Valley, PA. Donations in Bill's memory may be made to a passion of both him and his daughter, the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org). Online condolences can be made by visiting www.paganofuneralhome.com.
