Obituary of Kenneth F. Persing, Jr.

Kenneth F. Persing Jr., 65, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed into glory following a prolonged illness on April 25, 2022. Born February 5, 1957, he attended Claymont High School, was a Knights of Columbus member, and worked as a freight train engineer for Conrail. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Sr. & Charlotte Persing, Winifred "Winnie" & Horace "Buck" Bothum; his brother Thomas Persing, and sister Sharon Persing. He is survived by his brother Peter Bothum (Kelly); his children: Sommer Garner (Sean), Kenneth Persing III (Joyce), Phillip Persing (Rebecca), and Mollie Esposito (Vincent); 13 grandchildren; and wife Gail Ross. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Philadelphia Eagles, and playing music with his family and church. His saving hope was in Jesus Christ who remains our peace and comfort. A memorial ceremony will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 2, at Atonement Church, 3519 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 am.
