Obituary of Karen E. DiRienzo

Karen E. DiRienzo, age 68 of Media, PA, passed away on February 3, 2022. Karen was born to Jean and Armand "Phil" DiRienzo on July 27, 1953 in Philadelphia, PA. Raised as a young child in Lansdowne, PA, Karen spent many days of her life with her toes in the sand at Long Beach Island, and later fell in love with the waters of Bethany Beach, Delaware. Karen found peace and calm at the shore reading books, magazines and she loved tracking the weather. She followed her heart, passion, and thirst to serve others by building a foundation of knowledge at Harcum College, Cabrini University, and Immaculata University; ultimately earning her Bachelors of Social Work. Karen worked over 30 years in the Crozer Keystone Health System (Crozer and Springfield Hospital). She was a dedicated social worker who helped so many people in their time of need throughout her career. Her humor was contagious, and she always knew how to light up a room with her laugh on all occasions. She loved movies, such as The Santa Clause, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and A Charlie Brown Christmas. Karen always rocked out to the Rolling Stones, "Rock on Mick". Sadly she leaves us and we will miss her; Remember the happy memories that she leaves with you as she rests in peace and enjoys bright sunny days forever. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her Uncle Fredric "Freddy" and Aunt Dottie Jacobs. She is survived by her longtime friends, Bill Sammons and the Watkinson Family, uncle and aunts, Orlando DiRienzo, Veronica DiRienzo, and Angelina Kobylarz, several cousins, and friends. A private memorial service will be held in the spring at one of Karen's favorite places at Bethany Beach in Delaware. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.paganofuneralhome.com.
