As a child the first thing I noticed about my Aunt Diana was how pretty she was. She always seemed to be smiling. Later as an adult I was lucky enough to spend a little more time with her. After my father, her brother, passed away my family was a little bit lost. We moved to a new city to start over. Diana was kind enough to come and spend some time with us, helping us make the transition and set up the house. This is when I got to know Diana a little bit better as a person. We had two big collies and they greeted Diana like they already knew her. We were surprised because they were usually wary with strangers. I don’t know if she had that gift with all animals but our dogs immediately knew that she was a good person. As she visited with us, I was impressed at how warm, enthusiastic and optimistic Diana was. She was curious about everything and wanted to know more. She had such a positive attitude. She made things seem very doable instead of overwhelming. She was there for us when we needed help and I will always be grateful for her generosity as well as the chance to get to know her better. ❤️ The photo I posted is of Diana and her sisters from 1956. From left to right, Nancy, Linda and Diana on the right.

I loved Mrs Dougherty for treating me like a daughter , for all the kindness she blessed me with and being there when my mom wasn’t. Also for bringing her daughter Martha into this world that I’m able to have the best friend I could ever hope for. A gracious and lovely woman that I am honored to have known. I will miss you. See you in the spirit world , Holly
