Obituary of Elmer L. Thompson, M.D.

Elmer L.Thompson, MD passed on October 11th at 7:00 pm at the age of 91. He was born in Minersville, PA to George and Blanche Straub Thompson. Elmer was a graduate of Germantown High, The Pennsylvania State University, and received his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical School. Dr. Thompson had a special gift for caring and making connections with anyone he met or cared for. His family will remember him for his unique sense of humor. He served as a Captain in the us Army as a Regimental Surgeon of the 3rd Armored Calvary.

In addition to his parents, Elmer is preceded in death by his sister, Leah Hensal. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia, and his three daughters, Pat Thompson (Judy), Laura Beeghley (John), and Carol Deebold (David); sister Gene Goudreau, 4 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. A visitation will take place on Saturday, October 30th from 10-11AM at Maris Grove Chapel, followed by a memorial service at 11AM. Interment will remain private. Memorials may be made in Elmer's name to the Maris Grove Resident Care Fund or Westminster Presbyterian Church, West Chester Pennsylvania.
