Obituary of Martin E. Lauginiger

Martin "Chief" E. Lauginiger, age 74 of Linwood, PA passed away on September 3, 2021 at his home. Born to Carl and Gertrude Kuehn Lauginiger in Chester, PA, Martin was a life-long resident of Lower Chichester Township. He was a graduate from St. James High School. Martin retired from the Lower Chichester Twp. Police Department after 35 years of service where he served as the Chief of Police. He was the former President of the Delaware County Police Chief Association, a Board member of the Pennsylvania Police Chief Association, and served as a faculty member of the Delaware County Police Academy. Martin was a member of American Legion Post 951 of Ogden, and a former member of the Mercury Gun Club in Aston, where he taught hunter safety courses and female handgun awareness courses. He was a former member and Past President of the Friendship Fire Company. Martin loved hunting, fishing and was known for his gun smithing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Edward Lauginiger. Martin is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marsha A. Tucker Lauginiger, his two sons, Carl (Michele) Lauginiger and Damian Lauginiger, three grandchildren; Breann (Rich), Brooke, and Jordan, his great granddaughter, Zoe, his sister, Sr. Elizabeth Lauginiger, SSJ., and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 8:30AM-11 AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a memorial service at 11 AM.
