I think of Marty Lauginiger, often. Around 1960 when he was a Boy Scout he taught me how to tie my shoes. I think of him every time I tie my shoes, especially when they come undone, I jokingly laugh to myself and think of Marty. Marty also donated blood to me when I was hit by a car in 1972.. We both had the same blood type that only a person with the same blood type can donate to another. I always thought the world of Marty and around 1990 I donated a foldable stage to him which he gave it to Boothwyn Fire Company in Boothwyn,Pa. I was thinking of Marty today and discovered he had passed away. He was one on a million and I know he’s missed by those who knew and loved him. Rest in peace Marty. My dad always admired you and I believe you are with your mother and the ones you loved enjoying the kingdom of Heaven, thanks to Father McDermott from Holy Saviour who your mother served in the rectory for years. Rest in God’s Peace my friend.
