Obituary of Francis Joseph Conti Sr.

Francis Joseph "Biff" Conti, Sr., age 97 of Glen Mills, PA passed away on June 20, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born to Joseph and Edith Longo Conti in Philadelphia, PA, he was raised in South Philadelphia in the Epiphany of Our Lord Parish. Frank previously resided in Clifton Heights, West Chester, Unionville, and finally settled in Maris Grove in Glen Mills, PA. He was a Fire and Safety Engineer for ARCO, where he retired in 1986 after 33 years of service. Biffy was a kind man who loved to interact with the people in his communities. He enjoyed fixing motorcycles, scooters, cars, and bicycles, especially the bicycles for the kids in his neighborhoods. Frank loved to tinker with clocks and watches by taking them apart, fixing them, and putting them back together. He, along with his brother, built their parents summer house in Presidential Lakes, NJ. Biffy loved being down the shore, fishing, crabbing, and boating. He loved being on the water, whether it was in his Fire Chief boat on the Delaware River, or in the "Yo Pal" at the Jersey shore. He and his wife, Toni, loved to travel. Instead of Florida in the winter they vacationed along the Costa Del Sol in Spain. When they turned 91 they cruised from Budapest to Amsterdam. They often traveled to the New England coast with family members for weeks at a time. He so enjoyed his trips to Italy. Most of all, Frank cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandson Sean, and his many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his brothers; Alphonse Conti, Joseph Conti, James Conti, Anthony Conti, and Paul Conti. He is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Antoinette "Toni" Fornito Conti, daughter, Marcia (Robert) Conti-D'Antonio, son, Frank (Debbie) Conti, Jr., brother, Nicholas Conti, sisters; Dorothy Conti and Theresa Conti Quagliero, and grandson, Sean Michael Conti. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 1st from 10:30-11:15AM followed by a memorial service from 11:15AM-12PM at Maris Grove Chapel, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA. Specific directions to the chapel will be provided at Maris Grove Gatehouse. Interment will remain private. A luncheon will follow at La Fava Restaurant and Bar, 1102 Baltimore Pike, Glen Mills, PA.
