William T. Robinson posted a condolence
Monday, May 24, 2021
I would like to express my condolences to the family of Joe Sweeney. Joe was part of the Civil Service Commission during the time I was Police Chief. Joe took this position very seriously, knowing that the decisions made in evaluating Police Officer candidates would have a lasting impact on the quality of service to the citizens of Upper Chichester Township. Besides taking on this responsibility, Joe always demonstrated a professional, courteous and friendly demeanor. Further he was an example of a true “BULLDOG,” representing those strong and valued traditions of St. James High School. Joe will be missed but his positive impact on those he touched will continue on. Thank you Joe, Rest in Peace,
William T. Robinson, Chief of Police (Retired)
Upper Chichester Township

I was lucky enough to get to know Joe when I was lucky enough to work for him at Sears. Nothing else to say except he was a great guy to work with and for. He was fair, funny and dedicated and treated his people right.
Please accept my condolences. He was definitely a beacon of light that shined for a long time.

A very special good guy, from Chester & St James. He had a lot of friends! I saw Him as a true kind Spirit from our good God. Last weeks Gospel talked of how Men should try to emulate the Spirit of Jesus and the love Jesus tells us to have for eachother! Joe Sweeney emulated that as well as anyone! Rest in the Peace of the Lord. I was lucky to have known Joe!
