Obituary of Jerome P. Hofmann

Jerome P. "Jerry" Hofmann on March 12, 2021, passed away peacefully at 91. Born in Philadelphia, Jerry attended Olney High, and attained advanced degrees in education from LaSalle University and University of Pennsylvania. Jerry started his career teaching in a one room school house in 1951 and later served as an elementary school principal in Penn Delco School District from 1959 to 1967. He spent 19 years as a school administrator in Great Valley School District before retiring as an assistant superintendent in 1986.
Jerry and his beloved late wife Jean were high school sweethearts, married in 1951, and raised their loving family in Drexel Hill. Jerry was an active member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church for many years, serving as lector and Eucharistic Minister. In 2008 Jerry and Jean moved to Maris Grove where they spent many happy years. Jerry was a talented musician, avid golfer, and had a wicked sense of humor, especially after a Manhattan. He prided himself on carrying his own golf bag well into his 80’s.
Jerry was the devoted father of Joseph (Maureen), Jeffrey (Kathleen), Janet Blenheim (Stephen), Julie Chelius (James), and the late Jerome J. He was the adored Grandpop of 12 grandchildren: Mary Milton, Joseph (Karen), Christopher (Anne), Karen, Amy Hatton (Chris), Katie, Erik Blenheim (Lauren), Courtney Norian (Matt), Jeannie Lynch (Patrick), Alex Blenheim (Kierston), Monica Chelius and Carolyn Chelius; and 16 great grandchildren.
