I was sorry to read in today's Inquirer that Jerry had passed away. Jerry and my mother, Teresa (nee Hayes) Cannon were cousins. I had infrequent personal contacts with Jerry (the last being running into him at a restaurant in Springfield, Delaware County perhaps 10 years ago when we shared our mutual love of golf) but I always regretted the absence of a closer relationship. He conducted himself with such dignity and I was always impressed with his achievements in the field of education. I am sure he must have been a great father and husband. Maybe Jerry and my mother will have a chance to say hello again in the Lord's kingdom. May he rest in peace.
