Stephen J. Bosacco, MD, age 81 of Media, PA passed away on March 7, 2021 at home. Born in Darby, PA, he resided for the past 35 years in Media, previously residing in Chester, PA. Stephen was an Orthopedic Surgeon for Hahnemann Hospital from 1973 until retirement. He served as both Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Residency Program Director. Stephen also served his country as a Major in the U.S. Air Force from 1971-1973 at Langley U.S. Air Force Base as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery. Known for more than just his skill as a spine and trauma surgeon, Stephen was a valued and treasured part of the Hahnemann Hospital family. Almost everyone who passed through Hahnemann, co-workers and patients alike, will remember him for his commitment to excellence in patient care and teaching, coupled with his quirky love of cowboy boots and his enduring appreciation for 80's female rocker Pat Benatar. In his early years, Stephen was an accomplished football player for Interboro High School and played briefly for University of Delaware, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Biology. He spent his summers at the Jersey shore in Stone Harbor, and he was a senior lieutenant for the Stone Harbor Beach Patrol before attending Hahnemann School of Medicine from 1962-1966. In addition to his parents, John E. and Mayre C. Beatty Bosacco, Stephen is preceded in death by two brothers, David and John Bosacco. He is survived by his wife Barbara Bosacco, 4 children, Lisa (Donald) Mazur, Sandy (Dede) Bosacco, Cleo (Matthew) McCabe, and David (Carrie) Bosacco, former wife, Gwendlyn Bode, brother, Kenneth Bosacco, 16 grandchildren, and his loving Shar-pei, Charlie.
