Obituary of Nellie L. Boyce
Nellie (Shade) Boyce, 89, of Trainer, PA, passed away peacefully in her home with her loving family by her side. Born to Edward & Marie (Eaton) Shade, Nellie was a lifelong resident of Trainer, PA. She retired in 1993 from Shop-N-Bag in Chester where she was a cashier for 17 years. She was never afraid of hard work and always willing to lend a hand. Nellie was a dedicated member of the Trainer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and the Delaware County Ladies Auxiliary for over 50 years and an honorary member of the Trainer Fire Co. She worked on the Trainer Board of Elections and was a member and treasurer of the Trainer Senior Citizens. Nellie loved to crochet, crocheting hats for newborn babies at local hospitals, lap robes for veterans, and many lovely items for family and friends. Nellie was born in 1931 on her brother Buddy's 3rd birthday. She adored Buddy her whole life. In a true testament to their bond, Nellie passed away on the 3rd anniversary of Buddy’s death. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William J. Boyce who died in 2001, a son, James Boyce; 3 siblings, Kathryn Shade, Edward (Buddy) Shade, and George Shade; and sister-in-law Joan Shade. She is survived by 4 children, William (Darci) Boyce, Marie (Ted) Trefz & Christine (Bob) Reid, daughter-in-law, Wanda Boyce, 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Crouthamel, a dear sister-in-law, Helen Shade, and her best friend, Lillian Weekes.
