Obituary of Jack Lewis Rightmyer

Jack Lewis Rightmyer, age 65 of Boothwyn, PA passed away peacefully on December 28, 2020 at St. Francis hospital after a brief illness. Born in Dayton, OH to John H. and Florence E. (Goeller) Rightmyer, Jack was the oldest of 6 siblings. He resided in Ridley Park, PA for over 20 years prior to moving to Boothwyn, PA. Jack was employed at DaVita Dialysis for over 30 years. He had many interests and hobbies over his life span which included sports, travel and history. An avid Civil War buff, Jack traveled to many of the historic Civil War battle locations over the years. After doing extensive research, he was able to coordinate a trip which allowed him the opportunity to stand within feet of where his great grandfather stood at the Battle of the Wilderness (Spotsylvania, VA), one of many Civil War battles over 150 years ago. The experience was a very emotional moment for him.  Jack played many sports over the years, which included winning archery tournaments, playing on a state championship softball team and coaching The Sacred Heart softball team to two league championships in 1975 and 1976. Jack was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He traveled to London a few years back to see his beloved Eagles play in England. In his later years he spent much of his time working and restoring his cabin that his father and uncle built in the mountains. This was a labor of love for Jack that he enjoyed sharing with his family and friends over the years. Jack’s happy place was the cabin. While at the cabin the family would spend time fishing, hunting, having fun at Knoebels, the Bloomsburg fair and overall just being together. Jack was quite the storyteller and loved sharing his experiences with anyone that would listen. What was most important about all of Jack's achievements and accomplishments was his want and need to share them with others.

Jack is survived by his wife of 11 years (together for 33 years), Tamara Mae Titter, his stepchildren, Curtis (Erin Mugge) Titter and Melissa (Jeff) Grillet, 3 grandchildren (Jadyn, Joey, Lacey),  and his siblings; Jane (Jimmy) White, Patricia (Bob) Rokicka, Cathy (Raymond) Surdel, Robin (Philip) Rokicka, and Theodore (Deanna) Rightmyer. He was not only a step-father to his kids but also the father that stepped up. He was involved with and attended any activity his stepchildren or grandchildren participated in. Jack was and always will be one of their biggest supporters. He was dedicated and loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, dog Sandie and granddogs, Max and Elly.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Saint Francis Healthcare Philanthropy, Residency Program. 701 N Clayton Street Wilmington, DE 19805 or online at (support.stfrancishealthcare.org).
