We were young, new parents when we moved to our first home. It was on Palmers Mill Road, we are still there. Our neighbors, especially Tom and Mae, took us under their wings. They helped steer us through the ups and downs of life. I always knew that 2 doors down the hill were friends and mentors who would give us a straight answers and great advice. For 50+ years we were very lucky to have lived so near to such wonderful people. Tom was always the "go to" guy when you needed help. Nothing was too much trouble. We miss our neighbors very much, Prayers for all the Meehans as the family gets through this tough time.

I am beyond sad that the world's best neighbor, my beloved Old Timer, has left us. Palmers Mill has not been the same without him and Mrs. Meehan sitting out front. I am so sorry I cannot be there to hug all of you, and share stories. He had the best twinkle in his eye, especially when he was giving you a hard time. He will forever be in the hearts of the Waldrons, we loved him like family. Hugs to all of you, especially Mrs. Meehan. Our thoughts are with all of you.

So sad to learn of TOM'S passing..but relieved to know that he is no longer suffering. I will always remember his jolly demeanor...and laugh. He loved to grow his own tomatoes..and often would drop some off in my door. I can still see Tom & Mae sitting on the porch ..under the awning together..and waving..and calling up to me. Every time I look at the LAMP POST all lit up..I think of Tom & Mae fondly. Their "MR. & MRS. CLAUS " moving figures in the window at CHRISTMASTIME ..will be missed too. Of course, Palmers Mill will not be the same...and we all will MISS You! So,SOAR WITH THE ANGELS, TOM...and Rest in GOD'S PEACE . My heartfelt condolences ..and comfort to you MAE..and to the MEEHAN FAMILY. GOD Bless you all..and comfort you in your sorrow.

Tom was a wonderful neighbor of ours for 52 years until they moved in with Peggy. We have missed them living here and popping in to see them. One of my favorite memories is about 30 years ago as I was.putting out the trash the back door caught and broke and the door was locked. I was in shortie PJs and the only option was to go to Meehan’s for our key. Tom opened the door, took a look and said “HELLO CAROL”!! Our youngest ran away from home at the age of 4 to Meehan’s. He was especially fond of them and would visit often. Tom had a “money” tree that Matt was convinced was real. Tom would let me cut some of his roses which I loved and he had some beauties. God has a special place in heaven for avid gardeners. We will miss him. Carolyn Waldron
