Woody was my cherished cousin and is huge loss for the family. Although I lost touch with him over the years i will always treasure the childhood memories I have of him. He worked hard and lived his life to the fullest. As his loving family surrounds him and and hugs him on his way to Heaven, I wish him safe passage and into the arms of God the Father. He will be missed. God bless this family.

Dear Family and Friends of Woody Watkins,
Thank you for the privilege to have shared in Woody's memorial service today, July 14. It was a lovely and inspirational service, and such a blessing to see my dear Cousins Kathy and Fred give elugies and play such beautiful music. Yes, Woody was an amazing and multi-talented man, who loved and excelled at many things.
I am one of those "Texan" relatives -- a "kissin" cousin to dear Woody. While I have known Woody, and his dear Family, all my life, it was only relatively recently, on the grand occasion of his parents Auntie Kay and Uncle Dwain's 67th wedding anniversary to which I was so privileged to attend last June 2019, that my long-time Cousin reached out to me to ask me if I was OK, and did I need any special prayers. It was so touching ... I will never forget. I learned that Woody was also a big-hearted man, who genuinely cared for his distant cousin, meanwhile treating me on an awesome trip through the gorgeous, historic Brandywine country, in his special red car (!). During this precious reunion, I also had the blessed opportunity to visit with Woody and Donna's darling daughters again (except Kaycee that time), and meet Kim's husband, son-in-law, Fred, and the most darling of Woody's heart, Jackson!! I am so thankful to God that I had the chance to have these precious times with Woody and all his dear family.
Woody's God-inspired love and concern for all family and friends is what I heard today on so many levels. He was always smiling with a twinkle in those big brown eyes. His life inspires me to reach out more to all my dear family and friends. And, to live life to its fullest. Woody sure did that, and now I just know he is doing the same "up there" ... reuninioning with all his and our pre-deceased family -- Uncle Bob, Aunt Hilda, Pop-pop Watkins and Janie Ma, Granddot and Pop Pop Wood, Minnie Wilson, Daniel Lawrence (!).
Praise God for the hope we have for eternal life. I love you Cousin Woody, and I know I'll see you again for an eternity. And, I just know you're enjoying all those supernatural "vehicles!" Praise the Lord!!

I was honored to call him friend, we went through some good times and bad. One of us came close to tragedy on remote well below zero cold mountain top in Canada snowmobiling however as we always seemed to do, by the grace of God we pulled it off. I have thought of him often and have a few regrets that I will live with always.
My first touring motorcycle was an unexpected surprise from him one sunny day as he returned from a buying trip. I shall never forget watching him tow it down the isle upon his return, behind his truck in admiration not knowing it was for me.
Donna, I will pray for you and your family that the Lord will bring you comfort at this very difficult time. God bless.
