Obituary of Frank A. Porcello
Frank A. Porcello, age 86 of Dover, DE passed away peacefully at his home on August 9, 2019. He was born and raised in Bronx, NY, previously resided in East Hanover, NJ for 45 years and was a resident of Dover, DE for the past 6 years. Frank was a salesman for over 65 years working for Pitney Bowes and then for Gestetner business equipment until his retirement in 2001. Frank was an avid reader, was fascinated with natural history, astronomy and archaeology, enjoyed traveling with his wife on the many trips around the world he won as top salesman, and after retirement he enjoyed the excursions his daughter took him and his wife on, especially the Broadway shows, the trips to Spain, Portugal, Canada and the numerous times at his favorite place, Walt Disney. Frank was a decorated Corporal in the Marines during the Korean Conflict where he was a tank commander and an MP. Frank was also a tinkerer, inventor, a jack of all trades, and he improved upon his family home in NJ by putting in among other things, a heating system, bathroom and kitchen addition, french drain and roof by himself without any prior knowledge or training. Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Marie T. DeFalco Porcello and daughter Patricia J. Porcello. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM followed directly by a Funeral Liturgy at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA. A post-funeral reception will be held at Bertucci's immediately following services at 3596 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803.
