Obituary of Mary M. Akers

Mary M. Akers "Sis" "Sam", age 83 of Boothwyn, PA passed away peacefully on July 17, 2019 at home with her daughter by her side. Born and raised in Chester, PA, she resided for the past 40 years in Boothwyn, PA. A bartender by trade, she was employed at the Nite Cap Lounge in Upper Chichester where she was known by all as "Sam". However, her family lovingly referred to her as "Sis". She enjoyed game shows, soap opera's and her passion was playing the slots at Harrah's Casino in Chester. In addition to her mother, Agnes Heller, Mary is preceded in death by her sister, Jeanette D'Errico. She is survived by her 2 children, Debora Akers and Patrick Akers, her sister, Helen Smith and her best friend, Mary Baxter. A visitation will be held on Saturday, 12:00-1:00PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 1:00PM. Interment will remain private.
