Obituary of Louis A. Strupczewski
Louis A. Strupczewski, age 83, of Garnet Valley, PA passed on April 6, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he resided for the past 11 years in Garnet Valley, previously residing in N.E. Philadelphia. A supervisor, Louis worked in the Missile & Space Division at General Electric for 37 years retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Child and St. Martin of Tours Church in Philadelphia. Louis served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. His passions were golfing, snow skiing and traveling. He served on the board of directors and coached little league football at the Frankford Boys Club. In addition to his parents, Louis and Elizabeth Smolenski Strupczewski, Louis is preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Strupczewski who passed in 1982, son, Steven Strupczewski who passed in 1987, stepson, Richard Atella who passed in 1991, 6 siblings, Joseph, Frank, Walter and Leo Strupczewski, Mary Domaszewski and Helen Brzoska. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Carol A. Dougherty Atella, sons, Louis M. (Teresa Morretta) Strupczewski and James P. Strupczewski, stepson, Jeffrey (Deborah) Atella, 2 grandchildren, Steven and Justin Strupczewski and 3 step grandchildren, Richard III, Jeffrey John and Gianna also numerous extended family. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:45AM at the Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Road, Wilmington, DE, followed by a funeral mass at 12 Noon. Interment is private. Donations in his memory may be made to the Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters (Pink Sisters), 2212 Green St., Philadelphia, PA 19130.
