Obituary of Catherine Lopapa

Catherine M. Lopapa, age 78 of Bethel Twp., PA passed away peacefully on March 15, 2019 at Arbour Square in West Chester. Born to Francis & Gertrude Purcell Gottschall, she was raised in the Bronx, NY. Catherine has resided in Bethel Twp., PA for 7 years, previously residing in Concord Twp. where she raised her family. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for over 20 years for State Farm Insurance Co. Catherine was a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church. In her spare time she enjoyed walking, the outdoors, the beach and spending time with her friends, however her family was her true love. Catherine enjoyed spending time and caring for her grandchildren. She is truly known as a caring and loving person who always places others first. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas J. Lopapa who died in 1996. Catherine is survived by 3 children, Douglas Lopapa, Laura Grove & Albert (Kimberly) Lopapa, 8 grandchildren, Brandt, Peyton, Nicholas and Alayna Lopapa, Jordan and Julia Grove & Christopher & Dylan Lopapa, 4 siblings, Frank "Sonny" Gottschall, Bobby Gottschall, Bill Gottschall & Eileen Sirr. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, 9:00-10:15AM at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 160 Ridge Rd., Chadds Ford, PA followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM. Interment St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, Glen Mills, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory to be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
