I want to offer my sincere condolences on the passing of Bob. Undoubtedly he was one of the best listeners and supporters of one’s career! Starting from our first meeting at Powell back in 1966, it was Bob who taught me the basic, and later the finer points, of managing inventory from a fiscal point of view. Little did I know just how much those lessons would benefit me until operating my own company. Years later, once again, it was Bob who help us obtain Product lines and assisted me in preparation for bank interviews. Through the business years of our association there were also the personal friendships we solidified as we worked together. Briefly I can recall some moments like when one of Bob’s very young sons went missing on a day visit to Avalon NJ. Bob was the calm one leading to a happy conclusion. The countless number of Phillies games we attended together ultimately ending at the clinching World Series Game in 2008 with Bob and his family. It goes without saying that everyone who knew Bob will miss him and I will especially miss the breakfast meetings at our diner and dinners at Bob & Dar’s favorite Italian restaurant. Bob, you were and still are a very dear friend to me and words cannot express the life lessons you taught me. Rest in Peace my Friend.

Bob was truly" One of Kind" ! Friend to all , kind and compassionate in his daily dealings . Held his coworkers in high esteem and always had time to listen and be helpful. Among our fondest memories is how Bob was eternally unflappable. No matter the crisis inside or out Bob would convey a calm and unemotional reaction. He would emote absolute tranquility that would calm difficult situations. He was affectionally known as the "Teflon Man" for this extraordinary capacity to disallow problems that would upset most of us. For his many years of friendship and close working relationship I salute his memory and send sincerest sympathies to Darlene, his beloved family and countless friends. May he rest in peace until we meet him again in the hereafter,

We are so sad about Bob's passing this week. Have worked with him for 41 years and Doris for 34 years we became friends and much more than coworkers. I learned so much from Bob and he was always there to give guidance for all of our problems. We will all miss him very much. Love Doris & Roy McGain

It is with great pain to hear Bob passed away. But his memories on Bob will never faint. I highly appreciated working with Bob, setting up the Powell Europe division and found lots of help at any time from Bob but also Darlene. Dad, After talking to you so many times while driving here or there over the last 6 years since you retired, I thought I had a pretty good understanding of your life and all of the wonderful things that you have done for our family and for your friends (and mine). Yet someone how in the last 3 days I have learned more then the last 6 years. I have heard so many stories about the lives you have touched, the little things that people have remembered about you, even though they have not spoken too, or seen you in years. I know now that that the generosity you have shown to your family and friends whenever they needed, it extended far outside that small group. I was once told almost 40 years ago that "I did not respect my father", I am so lucky that I have had the last 40 years to learn how much respect you truly deserved and hopefully correct my youthful lack of understanding. You have created so many joyful memories for/with me and I promise to carry them with me always and share them with friends often, you will NOT be forgotten. Life is full of regrets, large and small. The only ones I will carry forward with me when I think of you, is of all the plans we have been making but can no longer keep, and all of the silence. I just hope you will still be able to "hear" me. Love you Dad.
