Obituary of John H. Horan

HORAN, JOHN (Jack), Age 96 of Maris Grove, Glen Mills, died on February 8, 2019. Loving husband and best friend for over 66 years of Dorothy (nee Cranston). Father of Stephen (Sheila) of Poquoson, VA, Regina Fitzsimons (late Michael) of Ann Arbor, MI, and Therese (Ray) McGoldrick, of Drexel Hill, PA. Eight grandchildren: Kathryn (Robert) Horan, Tegan Horan, Caitlin Fitzsimons, Maura Fitzsimons, Clare Fitzsimons, Alison McGoldrick, Joseph McGoldrick, and Michael (Sarah) McGoldrick. Alumnus of Northeast Catholic High School, 1939, Wharton School (evening), 1953. Veteran of WWII, 85th Division Rome-Arno campaign. Awarded Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge. Memberships: Military Order of the Purple Heart, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Knights of Columbus Council 11051, Chester Heights, Past Faithful Navigator Cardinal Dougherty Assembly 4th Degree, Former State Treasurer, KofC. Likes: Big band music, Sinatra, French onion soup, and Grover the cat. Dislikes: hypocrites. His funeral mass will be on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Rd., Glen Mills, PA 19342 with greeting the family prior to the mass starting at 9:15 am. A private interment will be in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
