Obituary of William A. Rotteveel

William A. Rotteveel, age 77, of Glen Mills, PA passed away on January 21, 2019. Bill was born in Sassenheim, Netherlands to Cornelius and Nilah Schonfeld Rotteveel. He came to the United States at the age of 5 settling in Philadelphia, PA, and has been a longtime resident of Glen Mills, PA. For many years, Bill worked along his father and siblings for the family greenhouse business in Chadds Ford, PA. He then owned and operated his own business, Garden Care, located in Lima, PA. He also obtained his realtor license working for several agencies in the area. Most recently, Bill was a driver for Elwyn Pharmacy. A devout Catholic, Bill attended mass daily. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church where he once served as an Altar Server and Eucharistic Minister. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed golfing, spending time with his family & friends, and taking road trips to Florida & Canada. A hardworking man, he was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by 5 siblings. Bill is survived by his wife of 46 years, Yvonne Van der Lans Rotteveel, 5 children, Andrew (Christine) Rotteveel, Nicole (Chad) Crouser, Yvonne (Michel) Haddad, Sabine (Brian) Enright & Monique (Sal) Giampino, 12 grandchildren & 8 brothers & sisters. A viewing will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019, from 9:00AM - 10:15AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church (new church), 430 Valleybrook Rd., Glen Mills, PA followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM. Interment will remain private. The family requests no flowers, however donations in Bill's memory may be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org).
