George R. Lamplugh, age 84 of Garnet Valley, Pa died on December 27, 2018 at home. Born in Chester, PA and raised in Linwood, PA, he resided for the past 8 years in Garnet Valley, PA, previously residing for many years in Linwood. George graduated form Ridley High School and worked as a Power House engineer for General Chemical in Claymont, DE for 35 years, retiring in 1993. He was an honorary member of Upper Chichester, Lower Chichester and Claymont, DE Fire Companies. He was awarded Chief Emeritis in 2013. George is preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Nida Knorr Lamplugh, 2 sisters, Joan Cannon and Judy Edmuston and a granddaughter, Bobbi Jo Lamplugh. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley V. Smith Lamplugh, 2 sons, George (Evelyn) Lamplugh and Mark (Michelle) Lamplugh, twin brother, John Lamplugh, 5 grandchildren, George, Scott Lamplugh, Lindsay Duke, Mark Lamplugh Jr. and Randi Lamplugh, also 9 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, 10-11AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by funeral services at 11AM. Interment, Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
