Carole and Michael Streat send sincere and heartfelt condolences to Al, his children and grandchildren on the sudden and unexpected passing of Marcelle on 12 December 2018. We live in London, England and our friendship with Al and Marcelle can be traced back almost 60 years. Al and Michael became close friends as undergraduate students in Manchester in 1955 and our friendship has endured ever since. We have exchanged messages via email with Al and Marcelle over the years and met for the first time at a university reunion celebration in Manchester in 2006. Marcelle was a delightful, intelligent and loving lady and we continued to communicate with renewed energy thereafter. We hope that the grief and sadness of her passing will subside and wish Al and his family a long and happy life.

To all Marcelle's family, I have been shocked to received this terrible news. I received like every year Marcelle's Christmas card fews days ago , given news from your family and everythings seamed ok. My mum and Marcelle's mum were neighbours in Paris and it was always a pleasure to see her when she visited her mum.A lady very pleasant and intelligent. I 'll regret and she 'll miss us. Dear Al and David and Brigitte and your beautiful grandchildren, you can imagine how pained Carole and I were when you called us Al with the very sad news. We were really looking forward to going to more ship cruises with you which we enjoyed very much especially with Marcelle ‘s always jovial mood and warm company. We always loved her lively conversations, which were especially always erudite. I enjoyed practicing my French language with her and learned many new words. She was always generous to us and everyone around her. She is an unforgettable person to us and everyone else. Wewill miss her company a lot. What a loss!lMay she Rest In Peace.

Dear Albert, Mum and I are so sorry to here of Marcelle's sudden passing. We enjoyed Marcelle's friendship for many decades. Such fun we had working together in Kennett Square. Marcelle made the days fun with her smile and laughter. Mum remembers fondly many Lunch dates and holds a special place in her heart for Marcelle for evenings spent at the playhouse theatre together. Marcelle was our very dear friend for almost 40 years. She was a classy lady of charm, smiles, politeness, and demeanor. We never heard her say a unkind word about anyone.
