Obituary of Alfred F. Martin

Alfred F. "Fred" Martin, age 93, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2018 at Season's Hospice at Christiana Care. Born in Chester, PA, Fred has resided in Wilmington, DE for the past 62 years. After graduating from Chester High School, class of 1943, Fred served in the Navy during WWII. He retired from Sun Oil in Marcus Hook after 40 years in the 1980's. In his earlier years, Fred bred and raced pigeons and also had a passion for horse racing, in addition to his parents, Charles and Catherine Fedena Martyn, he is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Jedynski who died in 2012 and a brother, William Martin. Fred is survived by 4 children, Debby Martin, Sherry (Len) Thomas, Cathy (Mark) Pollock, and Fred (Kris) Martin Jr., 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, 10-11AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA followed by a Funeral Service at 11AM. Interment, Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
