Obituary of Robert D. Lipton

Robert D. Lipton, age 88, of Broomall, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving children on October 30, 2018 at his daughter's home in Garnet Valley, PA. Raised and educated in Upper Darby, Bob has resided in Broomall, PA for the past 56 years. He was the owner and operator of his own shoe business, Village Shoes, located in West Chester, PA. Bob had a passion for music, especially classical and jazz. He was also known as an avid gardener. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and he also cared for his wife in her later years. In addition to his wife, Kathryn A. Malinchoc Lipton who died in 2013, Bob is preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Burke Lipton and a sister, Elizabeth J. Hart. He is survived by 2 children, Michael (Nacia) Lipton and Donna (Richard) Suermann, and 4 grandchildren, Matthew, Erica, Grace and Olivia. A visitation will be held on Friday, 11:00-11:45AM at the Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Rd., Wilmington, DE followed by a Funeral Mass at 12 Noon. Interment, S.S. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
