Obituary of Silva L. Small

Silva L. Small, age 89, of Concord Twp., PA passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her loving family on October 4, 2018. Raised in Mapleville, MD, Silva has resided in Concord Twp. Since 1960. A registered nurse by trade, she graduated from Washington County School of Nursing in Hagerstown, MD. Silva was very active and devoted to her faith. She was a member of Mount Hope U.M. Church for over 50 years. She served in many capacities at the Concord Seniors Center and also belonged to the Concord Twp. Historical Society. In addition, she was a member of the Red Hats of The Valley. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, reading, crafts and gardening. In addition to her parents, Silas and Beulah Hoffmaster Kuhn, Silva is preceded in death by 3 siblings, Charles, Silas Jr. & Carroll Kuhn. Silva is survived by her husband of 68 years, John D. Small, four children, Craig (Pam) Small, Stuart (Phyllis) Small, Lisa Small and Brett (Louise) Small, 7 grandchildren, Craig D., Amy, Nicole, Kerry, Chad, Stephanie, Chrissy, and 8 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:30AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery, Aston, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Silva's memory may be made to either the Perpetual Care of Mount Hope Cemetery or the Crozer Keystone Hospice (www.crozerkeystone.org).
