Obituary of Peter P. Krech

Peter Park Krech, age 71 of York, PA died on September 15, 2018 at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Upper Darby and raised in Drexel Hill, PA, he resided for the past 11 years in York, PA, previously residing in Avondale and Glen Mills, PA. A Director of Human Resources, Peter worked at various hospitals, including Crozer Chester Medical Center and Brandywine Hospital. Peter graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1965, received his bachelor's degree from Penn State University in 1969, and his master's degree from Widener University in 1987. In 1969, Peter enlisted with the Navy for 6 years as a deep sea salvage diver, and afterwards, he continued with the U.S. Naval Reserves for 24 years, retiring as a Captain in 1999. He was a proud brother of Pi Kappa Alpha at Penn State. He was an avid fan of Penn State football and all Philadelphia sports teams. He enjoyed stamp collecting and, in his earlier years, coaching little league. He will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. In addition to his parents, Karl G. and Elizabeth Park Krech, Peter is predeceased by his brother Karl Krech. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Marie Giroso Krech, 4 children, Kent (Nicole) Krech, Doug Krech, Kimberly (Paul) Neubauer and Steve (Meghan) Krech, 2 step children, Jason Giroso and Jennifer (Mike) Wojnisz, sister-in-law, Betty Krech, nephew Keith Krech, niece Karen Murinchack, 2 grandchildren, Keaton and Everett Krech, 5 step grandchildren, Jason, Alexis, Alison, Meghan and Michael. A visitation will be held on Friday 10-11AM, at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by a memorial service at 11AM. Interment is private.
