Obituary of Constance E. Chambers

Constance Eleanor (Wiechecki) Chambers of Aston, PA, known as “Connie” and an active, friendly, kind and creative woman, passed away on August 15th, 2018 after a long illness. She was 81 years old.

Connie was born on September 8, 1936 in Chester, PA to her parents Francis and Eleanor Wiechecki.  Connie graduated from Chester High School and was quite athletic in her youth, enjoying baseball and archery.  Connie married her teenage sweetheart John “Jack” Chambers at St. Hedwigs Roman Catholic Church in Chester, PA.  Connie and Jack were married for 62 years and had three children.

Connie’s career included multiple occupations, from owning an upholstering business with her sister Jo, and later working with her sister Cass catering, to making fancy cakes with a  pastry chef friend.  Connie earned her Dietician Certification and was promoted to supervisor of the kitchen at Fair Acres Retirement Home, and later was supervisor of the kitchen at Rosemont Presbyterian Retirement Village.

Connie especially loved to make waffles for friends and family at her vacation home in the Poconos and go for long walks in the woods.  Connie’s hobbies included intricate wood carving of birds and animals, crocheting, and ­­­photography.  Connie and Jack enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, the Pocono Mountains, and more recently visiting her children and grandchildren locally.

Preceded in death by her husband John, Constance is survived by their loving son John F. Chambers, Jr., daughter-in-law Suzanne Chambers, grandchildren Karli, John, and Timothy of Chadds Ford, PA; their daughter Deborah L. Bradley, son-in-law John P. Bradley, and grandchildren Jessica, John, Patrick, and Lazarus of Unionville, PA; and their daughter Donna M. Mallon and son-in-law Thomas Mallon of Springfield, PA.

Connie is also survived by her loving brother Lawrence Wiechecki and his wife Mary; loving brother Robert Wiechecki and his wife Marian; sister-in-law Barbara Wiechecki of Boothwyn; sister-in-law Margaret Hill of Wilmington, DE, and many Wiechecki and Chambers relatives.  Constance was preceded in death by her brothers Francis and Daniel, and her sisters Catherine, Dorothy and Josephine.

Family and friends are invited to the celebration and honoring of Constance “Connie” Eleanor (Wiechecki) Chamber’s life.  Visitation will take place Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM and Liturgy at 10:00 AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA 19060.  Burial will be held at Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA, www.paganofuneralhome.com for directions.
