Obituary of Patricia C. Dougherty

Patricia C. "Patsy" Dougherty, age 85 of Garnet Valley, PA died peacefully on August 9, 2018 at Naaman's Creek Country Manor. Born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in N.E. Philadelphia, Patsy resided for the past 6 years at Naaman's Creek Country Manor. Patsy previously resided in Villas, N.J. for 25 years, and prior to that, raised her family in Glenolden, PA. As a typist & secretary, Patsy worked for various insurance companies for 20 years before retiring in 1988. She graduated from Little Flower High School class of 1951. Patsy was a member of St. Raymond's Catholic Church in the Villas, N.J. & St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Collingdale, PA. She enjoyed reading mystery novels, watching scary movies & TV news, and caring for her home & family. Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, James Dolan and Beatrice [Knight] Dolan, husband, Charles J. Dougherty (who died in 1995) and brother, Police Detective James Dolan. She is survived by her 4 children, daughters Ann Marie (Steve) Gipe, Kathleen (Harry) Bowen, Teresa (Luke) Jennings and son Michael Dougherty, her 5 grandchildren, Sara Ann Janson (Thomas), Sean Gipe, April Nercesian, Lillian and Charlotte Jennings, & her 3 great grandchildren, Braeden, Sadie and Shane Janson. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 14th from 10-11AM, at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by funeral services immediately after at 11:00AM at the Pagano Funeral Home. A private burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Cape May, NJ. Donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
