Obituary of Frederick T. Casino

Frederick T. Casino, age 79, of Wilmington, DE passed away suddenly on May 18, 2018. Born and raised in Chester, PA, he has resided over 50 years in North Wilmington, DE. After graduating from St. James High School in 1956, Fred joined the Navy serving during the Cold War. After his Honorable Discharge, he was employed for many years at Sun Ship in Chester until it's closing. A Master Electrician by trade, Fred was then employed by NASSAS at the Philadelphia Navy Yard for 20 years retiring in 1997. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, the American Legion, the VFW and the St. James Alumni Association. An avid sports fan, he held season tickets to the Eagles and Phillies teams. Devoted to his family, he had a love for coaching which included the Brandywine Little League and IHM baseball. In addition to his parents, Frederick and Catherine Durkin Casino Sr., he is preceded in death by a son, Frederick who died in 2002 and a brother, William who died as a child. Fred is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary L. Casino (O'Malley), 2 children, Patricia Moyer and her husband, Marlin and Michael Casino and his wife Stacy, a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Casino, 2 sisters, Kathleen Koperna and Elaine Koperna and 6 grandchildren, Fred, Jessie, Patrick, Bridget, Ryan and Sophia. A viewing will be held on Thursday, 10-11:15AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by a Funeral Mass at 12 noon at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4701 Weldin Rd., Wilmington, DE 19803. Interment, Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at the above address.
