Gladys B. Evans, 92, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018, after an 11 year battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She attended Salisbury State Teachers College in Salisbury, Maryland, and graduated with a Bachelors in Elementary Education. She was an elementary school teacher for 33 years before retiring.
At a younger age, she was active in the alumni association of Salisbury State Teachers College. She loved to garden, bake, sew and knit, but most of all spend time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Kaitlyn, who was the light of her life.
She is the widow of Clifford T. Evans who died in 1993. Gladys is survived by her daughter Amy Barrett, and son-in-law Curt Barrett, of Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, with whom she has lived for the past 11 years, and her beloved granddaughter, Kaitlyn Barrett, of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, and one nephew, Elbert Evans, of Leland, North Carolina.
