Obituary of Joseph Costa

Joseph Costa, age 88, of Glen Mills, PA passed away peacefully on May 1, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. Born in New Bedford, MA, Joseph has resided at Maris Grove since 2006, previously residing in Murieta, CA and Greenbelt, MD. A Korean War Veteran serving in the Coast Guard, He received his Bachelors in Engineering from the University of Massachusetts. He retired from the Navy, Department of Defense where he was an Engineer. In addition to his parents, John F. and Mary Ethel Cota Costa, he is preceded in death by his wife who passed in 2017, Evelyn J. Costa, a daughter, Donna Costa Leonard and 3 siblings, Mary Resendes, Alvaro Costa and Manuel Costa. Joseph is survived by his children, Laurene Angelaras and Kenneth Costa, five grandchildren, Lisa Fletcher, Jamie and Julie Angelaras, Kelsey and Joseph Costa and three great grandchildren, Cassandra, Corey and Nicholas. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, 10:30AM at St. Thomas the Apostle (New Church) , 430 Valleybrook Rd., Glen Mills, PA where friends may call from 9:15-10:15AM. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.
