Obituary of Howard M. Dowd

Howard "Murf" M. Dowd, age 87 of West Grove, PA died on February 24, 2018 at Wilmington VA Medical Center. Born to the late Leroy and Elsie Whitby Dowd, in Chester, PA, he resided for the past 25 years in West Grove, PA, previously residing in Aston, PA. Howard worked as a courier for CCMC and prior he served his community as a police officer for Aston Police Department. Howard enjoyed collecting eagle statues. He served in the Marines during the Korean Conflict. In additions to his parents, Howard is preceded in death by his son, Barry S. Dowd, 3 siblings, Jean Southworth, Shirley Sharpless and Earl L. Dowd. He is survived by his wife, Ann Dowd, daughter, Susan Burns and stepdaughter, Kathie Berckman, 4 grandchildren, Kristin Burns, Megan Burns, Stephen Dowd & Michael Dowd and 7 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday 1-2PM, at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by a Memorial Service at 2PM. Interment, Siloam U.M.
