Obituary of Carl E. Bowman

Carl E. Bowman Sr., age 85, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on February 13, 2018 at home. Born and raised in Benton, PA, Carl has resided in Wilmington since 2000 and previously Boothwyn, PA. Carl retired from Road Machinery, Inc. as a Service Manager in 2003 after 30 years of service. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Wilmington, DE and was known to always lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Carl also enjoyed cruises and was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. In addition to his parents, Oley and Edith Smith Bowman, he is preceded in death by 4 siblings. Carl is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mary C. (Ward) Bowman, a daughter, Cheryl (Jim) Wheatley, a son, Carl E. (Jenifer) Bowman Jr., 4 stepchildren, Donna Marie McHugh, Douglas P. (Cassandra) Bowman, Mary Lou Weiss and David Lee (Mary Ellen) Bowman, 8 siblings, Grace Swank, Oley Bowman, Drucilla Bancroft, John Bowman, Dean Bowman, David Bowman, Edward Bowman & Eleanor Young, 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17, from 10-11am followed by a Memorial Service at 11am at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA. Interment will remain private.
