Obituary of James R. Misero
James R. Misero, age 73, of West Chester, PA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Born to the late Joseph and Jean (Manerchia) Misero in Chester, PA. Jim grew up in Marcus Hook, PA and later moved with his parents to Wilmington, DE. He was most recently a resident of West Chester, PA and The Villages, FL. He graduated from Salesianum High School in 1962 and then enlisted in the Navy that year. He served on the aircraft carrier, USS Oriskany, during the Vietnam war. In 1989, he fell "head over heels", and married the love of his life, Alice, in 1991. The Misero clan grew to be the loving, close family that everyone knows today, uniting Alice's 3 children with the 3 sons Jim had from his first marriage to Rita. Jim was a hard worker his entire life and followed in the footsteps of his father and beloved Uncle Sal, working his entire career at Sun Oil company. Jim retired as a pipefitter from Sun Oil refinery in Marcus Hook. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed his time fishing and hunting and lounging on the beach. He loved to go to warmer climates especially Myrtle Beach, Jekyll Island, Jamaica and Florida. Most of all, he loved the company of his family and friends, who he always made time for. He was quick to help out anyone who needed it or give them a place to stay or quick to give a smartass response. His kids and grandkids all adored him and knew they were all #1 in his book!! As far as Jim was concerned, you were always welcome to become an honorary "Misero". He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Alice P. (Organ) Misero, 6 children, Michael Misero, Kyle Misero, Ryan Misero, Andrew Donahue, Amanda Deakins and Kristine Misero, a brother, Joseph Misero, a sister, Jane Misero and 13 grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, 12:30-2:00PM followed by services at 2PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
