Obituary of Gregory T. Schaal

Gregory T. Schaal, age 61, of Middletown, DE passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, January 21, 2018. Born and raised in Wilmington, DE, Greg graduated from Delcastle Technical High School where he excelled in the Electrical/Electronics field. Greg furthered his career as a Journeyman Electrician and worked for 30 years in skilled trades at Chrysler Corporation's Newark Assembly plant from 1980 until his retirement and plant closure in 2009. He was a member of the UAW local 1183 and IBEW local 313. Greg was a devoted husband and father, nothing meant more to him than his family. He loved time spent at their beach house in Lewes, DE and also enjoyed fishing, boating, target shooting, watersports and was known as a history buff. A life-long motorcycle enthusiast, Greg also enjoyed riding his 1951 Harley Davidson Panhead. He valued time spent with his late dog, Heidi. Greg is survived by his wife of 35 years, Arlene D. Schaal (Graham) of Middletown, DE, his children, Stephanie L. Schaal of Smyrna, DE, Heather L. Schaal of Wilmington, DE, Karl T. Schaal of Lewes, DE and Kimberly L. Schaal of Lewes, DE, he is also survived by his mother, Elli Schaal of Wilmington, DE. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening, 6-8PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA and again on Friday, 9:30-10:15AM at Holy Rosary Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM. Interment, Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
