Obituary of Rees L. Gwynn

Rees L. Gwynn Jr., age 94, of North Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on December 10, 2017. Born and raised in Linwood, PA, Rees has resided in North Wilmington for over 50 years. Rees served in the Army during WWII and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He retired from Sun Oil Co. in Marcus Hook where he was responsible for Research and Development. An avid golfer, Rees had a passion for electronics and was known to be very Techie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rees L. Sr. and Frances Gwynn, and 2 brothers, William and Jervis Gwynn. Rees is survived by his wife of 68 years, Claire L. Bartow Gwynn, 2 children, Rees L. (Lynda) Gwynn III and Lois E. (Mark) Tinsman, 8 grandchildren, Matt, Jason, Brandon, Heather, Justin, Jenn, Missy and Joey, and 17 great grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, 12:00pm - 1:00pm at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by funeral services at 1:00pm. Interment, Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics of DE (www.sode.org), or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
