Obituary of Lewis C. Jordan

The family of Lewis C. Jordan Jr. is sad to announce his departure from this transitory life on October 26, 2017, at age 79, with his family at his bedside. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Lewis and Beverley Jordan, he lived in Wilmington, DE for over 40 years. He excelled in sales & marketing and started an advertising business in retirement. He was a man of strong faith and an active parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church where he also belonged to the Knights of Columbus. Lewis loved life, boating, fishing, golf and traveling. His biggest joy came from his passionate involvement in the daily lives of his family. Lewis was a devoted husband to Audrey and father to Lou, Beth, Dave, and Jason. His family will miss his laughter, joyful spirit and towering figure. This gentle giant was always aware of his finite time with those he loved and made every second count. His days were filled with service to his family and all that knew him. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 58 years, Audrey Cromie Jordan, 4 children, Louis (Mary Pat) Jordan, Elizabeth (Tony) Aranilla, David (Margaret) Jordan and Jason Jordan, a sister, Nancy Wiggins, 6 grandchildren, Cassie, Molly & Will Jordan, Jill & Julie Aranilla and Rory Jordan. A visitation will be held on Thursday, 9:30-10:45AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4701 Weldin Rd., Wilmington, DE 19803 followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM. Interment, will be at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lewis' memory may be made to IHM Outreach Program or a charity of your choice.
