Obituary of Marie A. Franz

Marie A. Franz, age 89, of Boothwyn, PA passed away on October 20, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Marie was a resident of Boothwyn for over 60 years. Dedicated to her family, Marie also was a waitress for many years at the Chadds Ford Inn. She always looked forward to playing Bridge with her neighborhood card club. Marie also enjoyed gardening, cooking and caring for her home. In addition to her parents, James and Agnes Smith Dougherty, she is preceded in death by her husband, William J. Franz who died in 2000, 2 daughters, Susan and Karen Franz, and 2 siblings, William and Richard Dougherty. She is survived by 4 children, William (Linda) Franz, Thomas Franz, Paul Franz and Jennifer (Robert) Oakes, stepdaughter, Jeanne Watkins, siblings, James Dougherty Jr., Danny Dougherty and Veronica "Bonnie" Carbone, grandchildren, Aaron and William Franz, Tyler, Andrew, Liam and Mitchell Oakes, and 3 great grandchildren, Rowan, Marlow and Brooks. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, 5-7PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA. Interment will remain private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's memory may be made to Crozer Keystone Hospice at Taylor Hospital, 200 W. Sproul Rd. Springfield, PA 19064.
